How to deal with grief after the loss of a loved one?

We have all faced the loss of a loved one - a parent, grandparent, spouse or partner, brother, sister, friend or, in the worst case, a child. Many scientists and doctors equate grief with disguised anger. Some equate it with non-acceptance. They mostly describe it as a very important emotion that time heals. And what if not? What happens if we "knock" in that grief? What will happen to us if we do not deal with grief and continue to live it from day to day, from week to week, from month to month or even from year to year?

When I think of grief, only one word comes to mind - MISSING! No anger, no fear, no rejection but lack . In some cases, we bear the guilt with that sadness, we feel pain and lack of the person who left us.

If we live for too long in a state of those heavy emotions of sadness, guilt, pain, lack - our body changes and over time we no longer know how to live in another way. The purpose of our existence becomes to nurture sorrow and pain.

According to the Kubler-Ross model , grief consists of five phases:

1. denial (avoidance, confusion, shock and fear);

2. anger (frustration, irritation, anxiety);

3. bargaining (difficulty in finding meaning - "what if I ...");

4. depression (feeling helpless, repulsion, struggle);

5. Acceptance (option research, step forward):

We usually "knock" in the phase of depression and we don't know how and where to go next. To be able to overcome these difficult emotions and enter a state of acceptance, there is a set of exercises that can help us get rid of sadness and that when we think of our loved ones who have left us, we remember them with a smile on our face instead of tears in the eyes.

For this exercise, you will need a notebook and a pen, a room where you will be alone to provide yourself with peace to process the exercise, and a box of tissues.

The exercise is held online, via the Zoom application, Viber, Messenger, Skype ... as agreed.

It takes about 1 hour to comfortably do all the steps of the exercise. Due to the very nature of the exercise, the exercise is held for only one user (not a group exercise).
